Winner – Gold at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 2012.
A fruit-forward Pinot Noir with a nose dominated by blueberry or ollalaberry, along with classic varietal character. The palate is dark berry, blueberry/marionberry; with a light vanilla note on a velvety tannin base. This is a surprisingly complex wine that needs to breathe a bit to really fill out. Decanting brings out dark warm spices in the nose, like allspice or cardamom; and a light pie crust note on the finish, giving the wine a blueberry pie or cobbler impression. Very pretty wine.
